The December 2-3, 1989 PENPEX Stamp Show had 15 dealers and for the first time the USPS services people came with their USPS truck. The show cachet honored the World Stamp Expo ’89 and the 115th Anniversary of the UPU, United Postal Union along with the World Stamp Expo’88 logo show cancel.
Again exhibits were open only to the sponsoring clubs and Golden Gate Stamp Club members. John P. Dusel won the Grand Award and Most Popular Award for his “British Imperforate Stamps: The Oldest and Newest” exhibit. The jury consisted of Harriet W. Brown and Clell E. McElroy, Jr.
A complete History of PENPEX exhibit will be on display at PENPEX 2011 on December 3 and 4 at the Community Activity Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City. The stamp show is free and open to the public.
