For the second year, PENPEX was held at the Veterans Memorial Building on November 13-14, 1965. The same officers from 1962 ran the show with the help of three local clubs: Palo Alto Philatelic Society, Peninsula Stamp Club, and Sequoia Stamp Club.
1965 PENPEX Show Cachet with Dual Cancel
The show theme was the 25th Anniversary of the Council of Northern California Philatelic Societies. Special show cachets were offered for sale at 20¢ each or five for $1.00.
The exhibition contained 72 frames of 12 pages each which were rented from WESTPEX Stamp Show. Two auctions were held by Avon Auction at 1:00 and 7:30 pm on Saturday.
For the next nine years, there were no PENPEX Stamp Shows, however the committee did continue to promote stamp collecting in the area. Through the financial aid of the PENPEX committee, YouthPex, held May 25- 26, 1968, used the WESTPEX 12-page frames.
A complete History of PENPEX exhibit will be on display at PENPEX 2011 on December 3 and 4 at the Community Activity Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City. The stamp show is free and open to the public.
